Past instructors who helped mold Ms. Rachel's dance education range from Ballet Mistresses of the Denton Ballet who studied under George Balanchine (founder of the School of Amercian Ballet and co-founder of the New York City Ballet), former professional ballerinas, to founders of critically acclaimed professional modern companies such as the Ewert-Pittman Company, and distinguished alumni from SMU.  During Ms. Rachel's high school and college years she auditioned for (and made) many companies and programs such as the Plano Metropolitan Ballet Company, Paul Taylor Modern Company Intensive in New York, The Rock School, Ballet Austin, Pacific Northwestern Ballet, and many more. She also performed solo and variation pieces for multiple ballets such as "The Sugar Plum Fairy" from The Nutcracker, "Tweetle Dee" from Alice in Wonderland, one of the sisters from The Little Mermaid, and other principal roles from Don Quixote, Cinderella, and much more. During her last two years of performing Ms. Rachel danced en pointe for an average of 30-40+ hours per week.

Ms. Rachel's past students have gone on to teach dance, open their own studios, and join prestigious programs such as the Plano Metropolitan Ballet Company, Kirov Ballet, Chamberlain School of Performing Arts, Texas Women's University's Dance Program, The San Francisco Ballet, University of Texas’s Dance Program, Oklahoma University’s Dance Program, Dallas Conservatory of the Arts, SMU’s Meadows School for the Fine Arts, Greenville’s Flaming Flashes & Cheer Squad, Caddo Mill's Drill Team, Royse City's Drill & Dance Team, Kilgore Rangerettes, Texas A&M Commerce University's Lionettes Dance Team, as well as many other dance programs.

Over the years, Ms. Rachel worked with many amazing studios and dance teams to further their own dance programs. In 2010 she decided to follow her dream of opening her own studio. Since then, her small beginnings have grown into a large studio family with a positive foundation and love for everyone that comes through the door.

Ms. Rachel has been awarded and recognized as a choreographer and teacher at multiple competitions where her choreography has consistently placed and been recognized for correct technique. Her competition team and choreographed pieces have won awards at the regional and national levels such as "Best Costume", "First Place Overall Solo" in the Petite, Junior, Teen, Senior and Adult age divisions, "First Place Overall Duet" in the Junior age division, "First Place Overall Trio" in the Petite, Junior and Teen age divisions, "First Place Overall Small Group" in the Petite, Junior and Teen age divisions, "Elite Top First", "Diamond Elite Top First", "Top First", "Top Starz", "Division I High Score", "Best In Jazz", "Best in Ballet", "Best in Contemporary", "Platinum", "Platinum Plus", invitations to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and SMU half time shows, cash awards, scholarships, and "Best Dance Studio" overall.

Ms. Rachel's lifetime goal is to make a positive impact through her studio in every individual (students, parents, their families, community members, vendors, etc.) she comes in contact with. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing the moment a dancer lights up because they have learned something new, overcome their fear of the stage, or when they (finally!) have their splits!! Ms. Rachel's biggest goal is to pass on her passion and love for dance to each and every student and to help her teacher's retain and grow that same passion within themselves.

In The News & Reviews

"We have been at Dance Prodigy Studios for 3 years now. My girls love the studio and have learned so much from all the teachers. Both my girls danced for over 10 years at another studio that closed down when we came to Dance Prodigy Studio so they were by no means new to dance. However, what they have learned in the short time that they have been at DPS is amazing. All the teachers have not only influenced my girls in dance but also have been good role models for my teenage girls. I trust them completely with the teachers. I also would like to say that Mrs. Rachel does not only care about my girls, but she cares about the whole family. She has done so many wonderful things for our family and has touched our lives and our hearts in a profound way. I would highly recommend DPS to anyone who is looking for not only a great dance studio but also a family friendly place." -Kathy N., Yelp.com Review
